This impressive jar features a robust, full-bodied shape with a wide, flat shoulder, tapering slightly to a flat base. It is topped with a large, matching domed lid that also prominently features the "Double Happiness" character. It is meticulously hand-painted in rich cobalt blue against a crisp white background.
The focal point of the design is the large Chinese character "囍" (Shuangxi), meaning "Double Happiness"—a highly auspicious symbol traditionally associated with weddings, joy, and marital bliss. The character is framed by a dense, continuous pattern of scrolling lotus vines and stylized floral blooms. The rim of the jar is finished with a classic continuous ruyi/cloud border.
