This is an elegant vintage porcelain jar, crafted in the classic Chinese blue and white style.
The jar features a classic baluster form with a domed lid topped with a blue, tear-drop-shaped finial. The exterior is lavishly decorated in vibrant cobalt blue. The central motif is a dynamic, coiling dragon with detailed scales, sharp claws, and a fierce expression, winding its way through a dense pattern of scrolling lotus vines and blossoms. The neck of the jar is decorated with a band of upright lappets.
The glazed surface has a slight creamy tone that contrasts beautifully with the rich blue pigment. The underside of the base bears a six-character apocryphal reign mark in underglaze blue reading "Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi" (Made in the Kangxi Reign of the Great Qing). The unglazed foot rim shows a natural, warm clay body. This beautifully decorated jar is perfect for display on a mantel, shelf, or as part of a collection.
