Founded in Derby, CT in 1872, the Derby Silver Company was noted for their line of toilet ware and hollowware, with showrooms from New York to Chicago to San Francisco. In 1898, they merged with the International Silver Company, a consortium of eastern silver companies and became known as "Factory B". Any pieces marked "Derby Silver Co", such as this one, are before this date. Although the building still stands, the plant closed in 1933, a casualty of the Great Depression.
This piece has quadruple silver plate in a repousee floral pattern, surrounding a thick glass decanter. All pieces in nice condition for their age, although the silver could use a polish! It stands 8.75" tall and is from a non-smoking home.
