Crafted in France circa 1880, the oil on canvas is presented in a richly carved giltwood frame decorated with scrolling foliage and intricate relief motifs.

The colorful composition depicts a generous bouquet of garden flowers arranged in a dark brown vase, featuring bright red and orange blossoms, vivid blue flowers, delicate white daisies, and small yellow blooms. The loosely arranged stems and scattered petals create a natural, lively composition, while the textured brushwork and soft neutral background enhance the richness of the floral arrangement.

Signed "C. Mary" in the lower right corner, the painting may be attributed to French artist Eugène Henri Cauchois (1850–1911), who is documented as having used the pseudonym C. Mary.

Born in Rouen, Cauchois studied under Ferdinand Duboc and Alexandre Cabanel. He specialized in floral still lifes and exhibited at the Paris Salon beginning in 1874. Known for his colorful compositions and fluid brushwork, he received several artistic honors during his career.

The antique painting is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its vibrant colors and decorative giltwood frame. A charming addition to a traditional interior or collection of French floral paintings.
