The chest incorporates three drawers in total, arranged with a smaller upper drawer above two generously proportioned lower drawers. This practical configuration provides useful organised storage while maintaining a clean and beautifully balanced façade. Each drawer retains its original wooden handles, preserving the understated character of the piece and complementing the natural warmth of the oak. A subtle raised gallery runs along the top, introducing an attractive architectural detail while helping to define the generous upper surface. The top provides useful additional space for a lamp, artwork, mirror or decorative objects. The chest is raised upon traditional bracket feet, creating a substantial and well-balanced silhouette while giving the relatively low piece an appealing period-inspired character. Particularly attractive is the oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and appealing figuring throughout.
