The design features the crowned royal shield surrounded by the lion and unicorn supporters, elaborate scrolling foliage and the famous royal motto “Dieu et Mon Droit”, translating as “God and My Right.” The raised casting is particularly attractive, with gold, red, blue, green and white painted detailing creating a bold and imposing appearance. Substantially constructed from cast metal and weighing approximately 2.5 kg, the plaque has a pleasing weight and solidity. Each example is individually finished by hand, meaning minor variations in colour and painted detailing form part of its character. A striking decorative piece for a library, study, hallway, traditional interior, pub, hotel, office or collector's display, particularly suited to interiors with British, heraldic or country-house influences. The plaque does not currently have a dedicated rear hanging fitting. It may be suspended using the openwork casting or a suitable fixing could be added if required.
