The tall, elegant body takes the form of a classical Corinthian column, featuring a deeply fluted shaft crowned by an ornate foliate capital. The column rises from a substantial stepped square plinth decorated with moulded borders and beaded detailing, giving the lamp a strong architectural presence. Above sits a large hand-moulded Vaseline-style art glass shade with a dramatic flared and scalloped rim. When illuminated, the glass produces a warm atmospheric glow that beautifully complements the aged brass finish. The lamp retains its B22 bayonet bulb fitting and Bakelite components. Its combination of neoclassical proportions, Gothic Revival influence and decorative glass makes it an imposing statement piece for a console, side table, library or traditional interior.
