Designed with the functional, architectural character associated with 1930s Art Deco utility lighting, the lamp features an adjustable construction allowing the direction of illumination to be altered. Its combination of bronze, cast iron and chrome-plated detailing gives the piece a strong industrial quality while retaining the refined proportions associated with French decorative lighting of the period. The original-style bell-form opaline milk glass shade provides a soft, evenly diffused light and creates an attractive contrast against the darker bronze metalwork. Bakelite components further reinforce its authentic early 20th-century character. Compact yet sculptural, the lamp would work particularly well as a desk lamp, bedside light, library lamp or decorative accent within an Art Deco, industrial or contemporary interior. The lamp has been professionally rewired and is reported to be in full working order. Material Bronze, cast iron, chrome-plated metal, Bakelite and hand-moulded opaline glass Measurements displayed in photos.
