The front is richly ornamented with a repeating arrangement of stylised floral rosettes and geometric motifs, creating an attractive architectural rhythm across the full width. The decorative pattern continues along the side returns, while the raised moulded borders give the fender a strong, well-defined profile. Finished in a dark traditional iron tone, the piece has an understated character that allows the quality of the casting to take centre stage. Its relatively low profile makes it particularly suitable for framing a fireplace without obscuring the surrounding hearth or architectural features. The fender remains in good, solid antique condition, with age-related surface wear and patination consistent with its age and use.
