The chest incorporates five drawers in total, arranged with two smaller drawers above three generously proportioned full-width drawers. This classic configuration provides excellent organised storage while creating an attractive and beautifully balanced façade. Each drawer retains its original wooden handles, complementing the understated character of the piece and allowing the natural beauty of the oak to remain the principal decorative feature. The chest is raised upon a substantial plinth base, providing excellent stability while giving the piece a strong and well-proportioned silhouette. Particularly appealing is the golden oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Rich honey-golden tones and an established patina give the timber considerable warmth, depth and character. The restrained design places emphasis on quality construction, practical proportions and the natural appearance of the timber, making the chest particularly versatile across a variety of interior styles. Very well constructed and presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 20th-century origin. At 106.5 cm wide and 95 cm high, the chest provides substantial storage capacity without becoming overly imposing. Its timeless proportions and warm golden oak make it particularly suitable for a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or country-house interior.
