The lamp features a distinctive three-footed ecclesiastical base, giving the piece a strong sculptural and architectural presence. Its aged silver-plated surface has developed an attractive natural patina, emphasising the intricate period construction and lending the lamp an authentic antique character. Above the base sits a decorative cone-form hand-made glass shade, softly diffusing the light and creating a warm atmospheric glow when illuminated. The combination of silvered metal and glass reflects the influence of the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau movements on British ecclesiastical decorative arts during the early 20th century. Standing approximately 60 cm tall, the lamp has substantial proportions and would make an impressive accent for a console, library, side table or period interior, while also appealing to collectors of ecclesiastical and Arts & Crafts lighting. The lamp is fitted with a B22 bayonet bulb holder and retains the character expected of an original early 20th-century lighting piece.
