The front is centred by a beautifully carved decorative panel, providing an attractive focal point and giving the otherwise restrained design additional depth and traditional character. The hinged lift-up lid opens to reveal a generously proportioned interior compartment, providing excellent concealed storage for blankets, linens, bedding and other household items. The broad upper surface also allows the piece to serve as a useful occasional surface when closed.
