Cast in substantial aluminium and finished by hand with a rich lustrous bronze-effect surface in Great Britain, the sculpture combines the appearance of traditional bronze statuary with the practical advantages of aluminium construction. The material is durable, suitable for exterior display and will not rust. Standing approximately 84 cm high and measuring 115 cm in length, this is a substantial sculpture with excellent presence. The stag's upright head and elaborate antlers contrast beautifully with the reclining body, creating a naturalistic composition that can be appreciated from multiple angles. The hand-applied bronzed finish accentuates the modelling of the animal's face, coat and muscular form while providing the warm, aged appearance associated with traditional garden sculpture. Suitable for both interior and exterior display, the stag would make an impressive focal point within a country garden, lawn, terrace, entrance hall, conservatory, hotel or substantial residential interior. At approximately 22.5 kg, the sculpture is substantial while remaining considerably more manageable than an equivalent solid bronze or cast-iron piece.
