Constructed in oak with a warm, richly aged finish, the dresser combines practical enclosed storage with an attractive open display rack. The lower section features two drawers positioned above a pair of panelled cupboard doors, providing useful storage while retaining the strong architectural character associated with Arts & Crafts furniture. Particularly attractive are the carved repeating arched details across the drawer fronts, together with the panelled cupboard doors and traditional hardware. Above, the dresser rack incorporates two open display shelves, framed by shaped upright supports and surmounted by a distinctive curved canopy. The open shelving provides an ideal setting for displaying ceramics, plates, glassware, books or decorative objects. The dresser has developed a particularly appealing aged oak colour and natural patina, with the surface retaining the marks and variations accumulated through decades of use. Its relatively narrow proportions make it an excellent decorative and functional piece for a country kitchen, dining room, hallway, cottage interior, period property or retail display setting. The dresser separates into two sections, allowing considerably easier transportation and installation. Presented in good antique condition and remaining solid and sturdy throughout. There are various age-related marks, scratches, scuffs and areas of surface wear consistent with its age and use, contributing to its authentic antique character.
