The table features two useful drawers to the upper section, providing convenient storage while maintaining the clean and balanced proportions of the design. Standing on elegantly turned legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, the table has a sturdy and well-constructed appearance characteristic of traditional English country furniture. The combination of robust construction and restrained detailing gives the piece considerable versatility. A particularly attractive feature is the exposed oak top, displaying beautiful natural grain, rich colouring and established character. This contrasts wonderfully with the rustic painted base, creating a distinctive layered appearance with considerable warmth and decorative appeal. The deliberately characterful painted finish enhances the relaxed Country House aesthetic, making the table particularly suitable for interiors where natural materials, aged surfaces and traditional craftsmanship are celebrated. At 122 cm wide, the table offers a generous surface while its 50.5 cm depth keeps the proportions practical. It would work beautifully as a console or hall table within an entrance hall, living room or dining room, while also providing an attractive surface for lamps, artwork and decorative objects. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use complementing its rustic Country House character.
