Weighing approximately 20 lb (9.1 kg), the fixture has considerable architectural presence. The design is distinguished by three finely cast bronze ram's-head anchor points, each supporting the substantial glass bowl through heavy-duty fittings with protective cushioning. The original moonstone glass shade has a deep conical bowl form with pronounced prismatic ribbing, designed to refract and diffuse the light while creating a dramatic geometric effect when illuminated. The glass is complemented by three original bronze double-link suspension chains leading to a substantial cast bronze ceiling plate. Further period details include the intermediate bronze anchor gallery with its original locking bolts and an embossed maker's identification marked “Jefferson 6320.” The bronze surfaces retain an attractive naturally aged patina that enhances the sculptural detailing. A rare and imposing example of interwar architectural lighting, particularly suited to a large entrance hall, dining room, stairwell or sophisticated Art Deco interior. Professionally rewired in period-style three-core fabric-braided cable, earthed, tested and reported to be in full working order.
