The sculptural metal body takes inspiration from an ancient greek two-handled vessel, reinterpreted through the streamlined geometric vocabulary of the art deco period. The elongated handles rise dramatically from the stepped circular base, framing the central light and giving the lamp a particularly strong architectural silhouette. A white opaline glass globe sits within the amphora-form structure, providing a clean geometric contrast to the metallic body. When illuminated, the globe softly diffuses the light and emphasizes the sculptural outline of the surrounding metalwork. The combination of classical inspiration and french interwar modernism makes this an unusual decorative example of 1930s lighting, equally suited to an art deco collection or a sophisticated contemporary interior. The lamp has been professionally rewired and incorporates a b22 bayonet-fit bulb holder.
