The lower section is arranged with two blind-door cupboards, positioned symmetrically to either side. Each cupboard contains a useful internal shelf, providing generous concealed storage for tableware, linens, serving pieces or other household items. Centrally positioned are two practical drawers, retaining their original brass handles and fittings. These provide convenient additional storage while contributing to the authentic period character of the piece. The upper section gives the sideboard considerable decorative presence, combining open shelving with a central glazed cabinet. This arrangement provides attractive display space for ceramics, glassware, collectibles or decorative objects while creating an imposing and well-balanced architectural composition. The sideboard is raised upon handsome turned legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, providing excellent stability while reinforcing the traditional Jacobean-inspired character of the design. Throughout, the oak displays a particularly attractive natural grain with a deep, rich colour and established patina. The warmth and character of the timber complement the substantial proportions and traditional detailing beautifully. Standing 152.5 cm high and 153 cm wide, the sideboard has considerable presence while offering an excellent combination of serving, display and storage space. The generous worktop sits at approximately 96 cm high, making it particularly practical for a dining or entertaining setting. For easier transportation and installation, the sideboard separates into two main sections. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.
