The chest features three generously proportioned full-width drawers, providing excellent storage while maintaining a clean and balanced façade. Each drawer retains its original metal handles, adding authentic period character and complementing the warm tones of the oak. A raised gallery runs along the top of the chest, providing an attractive architectural finishing detail while also enhancing the practicality of the upper surface. The worktop itself sits at a convenient height of 74 cm and provides useful additional display space for a mirror, lamp, artwork or decorative objects. The chest is raised upon four sturdy square legs, giving the piece a strong and well-balanced appearance while creating a lighter profile than a conventional plinth-based chest. Particularly appealing is the golden oak itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive tonal variation throughout. Its warm honey-golden colouring gives the piece an inviting appearance and highlights the natural character of the timber. At 90 cm wide and only 45 cm deep, this is a particularly versatile chest, providing substantial drawer storage without requiring excessive floor space. Its proportions make it equally suitable for a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or living space. The combination of three spacious drawers, a useful upper surface and relatively compact dimensions makes this an exceptionally practical piece of furniture as well as an attractive decorative addition. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly usable example of traditional English oak furniture, combining excellent storage, warm golden colour and timeless proportions.
