Very well made and of good quality, the bureau has attractive proportions and a distinctive design, making it particularly suitable for a study, living room, hallway or bedroom. The fall-front opens to form a practical writing surface and reveals a neatly fitted interior arranged with a selection of small drawers and compartments. This provides convenient storage for stationery, correspondence and other smaller items while creating an attractive and functional workspace. Beneath the writing section are two useful drawers, both retaining their original handles and fittings. These provide additional storage while preserving the authentic character of the piece. The bureau is raised on elegantly turned legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, creating a graceful and well-balanced silhouette while providing strength and stability to the construction.
