The cabinet displays outstanding burr walnut throughout, with richly figured swirling grain patterns and a wonderfully warm colour that give the piece considerable depth and visual impact. The quality of the timber is undoubtedly one of its defining features. The upper section is enclosed by a pair of doors opening to reveal two practical sliding shelves. This thoughtful arrangement provides flexible storage while maintaining the elegant and uncluttered appearance of the exterior. Below, the base incorporates three generously proportioned drawers, providing further concealed storage. The piece retains its original handles and fittings throughout and is accompanied by a key, preserving its authentic period character. The cabinet is raised upon graceful cabriole legs with finely carved knees, introducing a sculptural quality to the lower section and demonstrating the attention to detail invested in its construction. These elegant supports complement the richly figured walnut particularly well. At 149 cm high and only 82.5 cm wide, the cupboard offers substantial storage without requiring the considerable floor space of a larger cabinet.
