The chest features four drawers arranged vertically across the front, providing surprisingly generous and well-organised storage within a particularly compact footprint. Each drawer retains its original handle, preserving the established character of the piece and providing attractive period detailing against the rich tones of the mahogany. The chest stands on elegant cabriole legs, each enhanced by beautifully carved knees. These graceful supports give the piece a refined silhouette and introduce an appealing decorative element to the otherwise restrained design. Throughout, the mahogany displays gorgeous natural grain, rich warm colouring and established character, highlighting the quality of the timber and craftsmanship. Measuring only 41.5 cm wide and 34 cm deep, the chest is particularly versatile and ideally proportioned for smaller interiors. It could serve as a compact bedroom chest, bedside storage piece, hallway cabinet or occasional chest within a living room or study. The combination of four practical drawers, original hardware, richly coloured mahogany and carved cabriole supports creates an attractive balance between functionality and decorative appeal. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A highly desirable small chest of drawers combining practical storage, original fittings, attractive mahogany grain and elegant carved cabriole legs within a compact and versatile form.
