The cabinet incorporates four front drawers, providing useful concealed storage within a relatively compact footprint. Each retains its original brass handles, adding attractive period detail and complementing the rich tones of the mahogany. The piece is raised upon square-section legs united by a substantial supporting stretcher, providing strength and stability while creating an attractive architectural silhouette and a sense of visual lightness beneath the cabinet. Particularly appealing is the mahogany itself, displaying pronounced natural grain and attractive figuring throughout. Deep, warm colour and an appealing aged patina highlight the quality and natural beauty of the timber. The unusual proportions and distinctive configuration set this cabinet apart from more conventional chests of drawers, making it an interesting and highly decorative example of early 20th-century furniture. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its period origin. At only 60.5 cm wide and 40 cm deep, the cabinet offers useful storage while occupying relatively little floor space. Ideally suited as a side cabinet, bedside cabinet, hall piece or decorative storage cabinet within traditional or contemporary interiors. Dimensions: Height: 94 cm Width: 60.5 cm Depth: 40 cm See less
