The chest features five drawers arranged in the traditional configuration of two short drawers above three graduated full-width drawers, providing generous storage despite its relatively compact size. Each drawer is fitted with brass handles that complement the warm tones of the mahogany. Of particular note are the decorative pilasters flanking the drawer fronts, lending the chest a more architectural and distinctive appearance. The case is raised upon traditional bracket feet, completing its well-balanced Georgian silhouette. The mahogany displays an attractive grain and deep, warm colour throughout, with the surface retaining the character and patina expected of a piece of this considerable age. Presented in good antique condition, with age-related wear and variations consistent with its history and use. A handsome and practical example of 18th-century English cabinetmaking, particularly desirable for its smaller proportions. Dimensions: Height: 82.5 cm Width: 96 cm Depth: 48 cm See less
