The cupboard features a single panelled door opening to reveal an interior fitted with a shelf, providing useful concealed storage. The original key is retained, adding to the period character of the piece. The upper section is particularly attractive, incorporating a raised gallery back and an additional small shelf, creating useful display space while giving the cupboard a more architectural and decorative silhouette. Fine crossbanded detailing provides subtle contrast across the mahogany surfaces, while the timber itself displays an attractive natural grain, deep warm colour and well-developed character. Raised upon a substantial plinth base, the cupboard is sturdy and well proportioned. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use. Its compact dimensions make this an especially versatile piece, suitable as a traditional pot cupboard, bedside cabinet, nightstand or small storage cabinet in both period and contemporary interiors.
