The rectangular top opens from a compact depth of 45.5 cm to approximately 90 cm, creating a considerably larger surface when required while allowing the table to remain relatively compact when closed. A single drawer is incorporated into the front frieze and retains its original brass handle, providing useful storage while complementing the understated character of the piece. The table is raised upon four elegant tapered legs, giving the design a light and beautifully balanced silhouette. The mahogany displays attractive natural figuring and a rich, warm colour throughout, enhanced by the patina developed through age and use. Presented in very good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 19th-century origin. An elegant and versatile example of period English furniture, suitable as a traditional tea table, occasional table or decorative console within both classic and contemporary interiors. Dimensions: Height: 71.5 cm Width: 91.5 cm Depth Closed: 45.5 cm Depth Open: 90 cm Weight: Approximately 18 kg (40 lb). See less
