Well made and of good quality, this handsome sideboard offers substantial storage while retaining the graceful proportions and understated elegance associated with Edwardian furniture. The upper section is centred around a striking bevel-edged oval mirror, creating an attractive focal point while adding a sense of light and depth to the overall composition. Its elegant shape complements the flowing lines of the sideboard below. Beneath are two useful drawers, both retaining their original handles and fittings and providing convenient storage for cutlery, linens and other household essentials. Below the drawers is a spacious double-door cupboard enclosing a single internal shelf, offering generous additional storage while maintaining a neat and well-organised appearance. The sideboard is raised on elegant cabriole legs, giving the piece a graceful and well-balanced silhouette. Their flowing form complements the oval mirror and contributes considerably to the refined character of the design. The mahogany displays beautiful natural grain, rich warm colouring and attractive tonal variation throughout. Its matured appearance provides considerable character and visual depth while highlighting the quality of the timber. The combination of the bevel-edged oval mirror, original handles and fittings, cabriole legs and beautifully matured mahogany makes this a particularly appealing example of early 20th-century furniture. Measuring 122 cm wide, the sideboard provides substantial storage and display space without becoming excessively large, making it particularly versatile for a dining room, hallway or living space. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin.
