The chest features three generously proportioned drawers to the front, providing useful storage while maintaining an elegant and uncluttered appearance. All three drawers retain their original brass handles, adding attractive period detail and complementing the warm tones of the mahogany. Particularly appealing decorative inlay appears throughout, with fine satinwood and ebony stringing providing subtle contrast against the richly coloured mahogany. This delicate detailing highlights the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail evident in the construction. An attractive raised gallery crowns the chest, adding architectural definition while framing the generous worktop below. The main surface sits at a practical height of 78 cm, providing useful additional display space. The chest stands on elegant tapered legs, creating a light and graceful silhouette and complementing the restrained decorative character of the piece. Throughout, the mahogany displays particularly attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and established character, beautifully enhanced by the contrasting satinwood and ebony detailing. Its versatile proportions make the chest suitable for a bedroom or dressing room while equally allowing it to function as an attractive storage piece within a hallway or living space. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable chest of drawers combining richly figured mahogany, three practical drawers with original brass handles, fine satinwood and ebony stringing, a decorative raised gallery and elegant tapered legs.
