A rare model 8025 floor lamp designed by j.j.m. Hoogervorst for anvia in the netherlands in 1957. The lamp features a remarkably slender black metal stem rising from a distinctive open circular base. Its original red lacquered metal shade has a wide conical form and can be adjusted to direct the light where needed. The strong contrast between the minimal black frame and vivid red shade gives the lamp its characteristic 1950s appearance. The sculptural circular base creates a light, almost graphic silhouette. Hoogervorst’s restrained use of materials, clean lines and functional adjustability reflect the progressive character of dutch modern lighting design from this period. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
