The double sided fabric has been replaced with modern Walter Crane, Swallows and Almond Blossom Tapestry Weave to one side, and duck egg 100% silk to the other.

The screen is in very good condition, showing some signs or use. There are a few knocks to the frame, please refer to the last four photographs. A sliver or wood has been added to each side or the right hand silk panel, next to the original walnut beading, as partly shown in photograph number 8, these are hardly noticeable.

The screen is sturdy with no loose joints. The walnut frame has been wax polished. Probably made by the likes or James Shoolbred, or similar high end maker.

The folding ends work on brass hinges that can fold to either side. They can be angled to suit. The left hand side (with the weave fabric front-most) does not stay in position very well if angled set more than photograph number 6 shows.
