This vintage green glazed ceramic pitcher presents a charming, squat silhouette, with a full, rounded belly that rises to a straight, cylindrical neck and a softly flared pouring spout. A sturdy, angular strap handle springs from the shoulder to the rim, balancing the form with confident, utilitarian grace. The body is thrown with bold horizontal ribbing that circles the lower half, creating a rhythmic, tactile surface that catches the light along each ridge. A glossy glaze in saturated jade and seafoam green pools into deeper teal in the grooves and thins to soft olive and celadon along the raised bands, producing a lively, watery depth. Fine crazing threads through the surface, and small kiln flecks and tiny glaze nicks add the unmistakable character of honest, long-loved pottery. The unglazed foot reveals a warm, toasted clay body beneath, grounding the cool color with an earthy contrast. Cheerful, handmade in feel, and quietly sculptural, the pitcher recalls the American art pottery tradition with a fresh, sea-glass palette.
Place this pitcher on a kitchen shelf, dining table, sideboard, or open hutch, or use it as a vase for garden flowers, herbs, or dried branches. It complements Mid-Century Modern, Farmhouse, Cottage, Organic Modern, and Coastal interiors. To care for it, hand wash gently with mild soap and warm water, avoid soaking, dishwashers, and sudden temperature changes, and dry thoroughly; due to the crazing and chip, it is best suited to decorative or dry display use. The pitcher measures 7 inches (178 mm) wide, 5.5 inches (140 mm) deep, and 6 inches (152 mm) high. Condition is very good, with an original glaze, minor surface crazing, and a small chip near the handle, though it remains structurally sound. Add this charming piece to your table today.
