It is beautifully hand-painted in the classic Famille Rose (Fencai) palette against a brilliant, eye-catching imperial yellow ground.
The main body is adorned with a highly detailed and dynamic botanical scene. It showcases large, vibrant chrysanthemums in shades of purple and pink, surrounded by lush, textured foliage in various shades of teal, green, and blue. A graceful bird (likely a swallow or magpie) is depicted in mid-flight near the top, while another bird rests among the leaves near the base, adding a sense of life and movement to the piece. The rim and the foot feature classic dark geometric borders (Greek key or fretwork pattern), framing the artwork perfectly. The slight textured finish of the yellow ground adds a beautiful tactile quality.
