This stunning vase features a classic hexagonal (six-sided) form, with a flared rim and a tapering body. It showcases the intricate traditional decorative technique of "cartouches" (开光), where panels of artwork are framed by dense, colorful patterns.
The vase is richly hand-painted in the Famille Rose (Fencai) palette, featuring a magnificent contrast of imperial yellow, deep purple, and vivid red grounds. The body is adorned with intricate ancient dragon motifs, geometric borders, and floral scrolls, all accentuated by luxurious gilded (gold) lines that highlight the faceted shape. The central panels feature beautifully detailed figural scenes, depicting traditional Chinese figures—likely deities or scholars—standing amongst stylized waves, clouds, and auspicious objects.
