This cylindrical vessel, traditionally used by scholars to hold calligraphy brushes, is decorated in the classic Famille Rose (Fencai) pastel palette. The exterior features a charming and vibrant scene of figures riding mythical beasts.
A central figure in orange robes is depicted holding a child, surrounded by other attendants, riding what appears to be a stylized Qilin or guardian lion. The intricate brushwork, bright enamel colors, and cheerful composition make it a captivating piece of art. The rim is finished with a delicate gold band.
