This striking vase features a classic fluted "melon" form (gourd shape) with a flared, lobed rim and a distinctively patterned base. The entire piece is beautifully hand-painted in the traditional Famille Rose (Fencai) style.
It boasts a vibrant imperial yellow ground, which provides a striking contrast to the richly detailed panels. Inside the panels, you'll find meticulously painted scenes of exotic birds—including roosters, pheasants, and vibrant peacocks—perched among lush blooming flowers, peonies, and bamboo. The neck and base are adorned with intricate geometric and floral borders. The gilded lines accentuating the fluted body add an extra layer of elegance and texture.
