Attributed to the historic workshops of Barovier & Toso, this hand-blown Murano glass cigar ashtray or catchall (vide-poche) features an exquisite organic form with a heavy triangular silhouette and three smooth resting indents.
The interior features a vibrant, luminous cased pink core that contrasts beautifully against a dramatic tortoiseshell exterior. Suspended deep within the outer glass layer are shimmering flecks of genuine gold leaf leafing (aventurine), giving the piece a glittering, luminous dimension when caught by the light.
A exceptional, sculptural example of 1950s–1960s Venetian craftsmanship, this piece brings a sophisticated pop of color and rich texture to any Hollywood Regency, eclectic, or minimalist interior. See less
