An exceptional and vibrant example of early 20th-century European art pottery, showcasing classic Bohemian craftsmanship and folk art revival aesthetics.
This striking Art Deco period ceramic lamp base is a verified creation of Joseph Mrazek (Peasant Art Industries), produced in Letovice, Czechoslovakia, during the 1920s. Known for pioneering the "Peasant Art" style that captured the international market during the interwar period, Mrazek’s pieces are highly collected for their rich, impasto-like hand-painted applications and celebratory color palettes.
This specific piece features a classic bulbous, baluster-style body glazed in a soft celadon/mint green, serves as a canvas for large, boldly stylized floral motifs in radiant shades of vermilion orange, cobalt blue, deep magenta, and sunny yellow. The contrasting dark chocolate brown rim anchors the vibrant composition perfectly.
