An exceptional late 19th-century antique English bone china ginger jar by Royal Crown Derby, beautifully executed in the festive Chinoiserie style to replicate classic Chinese export Famille Rose porcelain.
The lidded vessel features a remarkably dense, hand-painted layout set against a vibrant, heavily textured gold-wash ground. The primary face displays a highly detailed courtly narrative medallion depicting four figures in traditional Hanfu attire gathering on an ornate garden terrace with a Scholar's rock and blooming flora. The opposing side features an elegant, white-ground cutout shaped like a ritual vase hosting an individual botanical vignette. The shoulder and lid are adorned with traditional "Sanduo" (Three Abundances) symbols, showcasing auspicious hand-painted peaches, pomegranates, and Buddha's hand citrons interlaced with black-bordered butterflies.
The underside bears the authentic Royal Crown Derby iron-oxide red manufacturer stamp with the "England" designation, alongside the hand-painted pattern number 355. Included is a separately sourced, carved openwork five-legged black display stand.
