The Babbit Floor Lamp is an expression of pure geometry. This elegant floor lamp is born out of the purest of geometric shapes. The brass shade is an alternative to the typical drum shade in fabric or paper. The base is a simple circle. The distinctive elements are the tailored tapering of the shaft, which was inspired by Brancusi sculpture. The shaft expresses the way the structural
forces support the weight of the shade.
Barry Goralnick designed this lamp for Currey & Company.
