The upper section features an unusual sliding door, providing access to the internal storage while creating a clean and beautifully restrained façade. This less conventional configuration gives the cabinet considerable individuality and sets it apart from more typical small cabinets of the period. Below is a useful drawer providing additional concealed storage. It retains its original brass handles and fittings, preserving the authentic period character of the piece. Decorative carrying handles are fitted to the upper section, an attractive and practical period feature that further enhances the cabinet's character and suggests that portability formed part of its original design.
