The chest incorporates eight drawers arranged as two short drawers above six graduated full-width drawers, providing extensive storage while maintaining the refined and balanced proportions associated with Georgian cabinet furniture. Each drawer is fitted with decorative brass handles and fittings, which complement the deep, warm tones of the mahogany. The timber displays attractive natural figuring and a rich colour throughout, enhanced by the patina developed over more than two centuries. The lower section is raised upon traditional bracket feet, providing a sturdy foundation and completing the classic Georgian silhouette. Presented in excellent antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 18th-century origin. For ease of transportation and installation, the chest separates into two sections. An impressive and highly practical example of Georgian cabinetmaking, combining generous storage with timeless architectural proportions and the warmth of beautifully aged mahogany.
