Mid-Century Modernist at its Best.
Lovely original oil on board - presented under glass in a significant gallery frame.
Pears in a simple bowl, featuring gorgeous soft tones of yellow, blue, green, pink, white and more.
Beautiful presentation of light and shadow in a classic still life form.
Linen stretcher mat in antique white adds another layer of elegance to the curved and highly carved gilt frame.
Very crisp overall.
Appears to be artist signed on reverse frame stretcher.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
Sometimes the quality of the execution of an original work - particularly in oil - elevates it to a higher plane.
That's exactly what this artist has done!
On one level it is a very pretty and warm pictures of pears in a breakfast bowl.
Then, the details emerge, and it becomes an exceptional original work with subtlety, shadow, graceful color, and near perfect proportion.
A beauty for sure!
