The chest features four generously proportioned drawers, providing excellent storage within relatively compact dimensions. Each drawer retains its original brass handles, complementing the warm tones of the walnut and preserving the period character of the piece. Positioned discreetly above the drawers is a pull-out brushing slide, a particularly useful traditional feature that provides an additional temporary surface when required while remaining neatly concealed when not in use. The beautifully shaped bow front gives the chest a sophisticated and flowing silhouette, further enhanced by the subtly raised edges to the top. Particularly impressive is the burr walnut, displaying dramatic swirling grain, intricate figuring and considerable natural variation throughout. The richly patterned timber gives the chest a luxurious appearance and makes each surface visually distinctive. The chest is raised upon traditional bracket feet, providing a strong and beautifully balanced foundation while complementing its classic English form. Very well constructed and presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. At only 71.5 cm wide, this is a particularly desirable compact chest, offering substantial storage without requiring excessive floor space. Ideally suited to a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or sophisticated living interior. Dimensions: Height: 80 cm Width: 71.5 cm Depth: 49.5 cm See less
