The lamp displays the streamlined geometry and refined decorative character associated with French lighting of the interwar period. Its sculptural silver-plated brass framework provides an elegant architectural support for the oval-form shade, while the contrasting materials create a sophisticated monochromatic appearance. The Ezan glass shade is particularly attractive, formed in softly translucent white glass designed to diffuse the light and create a warm, atmospheric illumination. Ezan glass is closely associated with French Art Deco lighting and is admired for its moulded forms, decorative textures and characteristic luminous quality. Compact yet highly decorative, the lamp works particularly well upon a desk, bedside table, console or side table and would complement both traditional Art Deco interiors and more contemporary decorative schemes. The lamp retains period components including Bakelite elements and a B22 fitting. Presented in beautiful period condition with natural ageing and minor wear consistent with its age.
