The stand features a square upper platform designed for displaying a plant, jardinière, sculpture or decorative object. Measuring approximately 29.5 cm square, the top provides a useful display surface while maintaining the slender proportions of the piece. A practical lower shelf provides an additional display level, adding both functionality and visual balance to the design. The open construction gives the stand a light and elegant appearance particularly characteristic of decorative furniture from the Edwardian period. Throughout, the oak displays particularly attractive natural grain, rich warm colouring and established character. The restrained design allows the quality and natural figuring of the timber to remain an important decorative feature. Standing 91.5 cm high while occupying a footprint of only 32 cm square, the piece is particularly useful for introducing height and interest into an interior without requiring significant floor space. Its versatile proportions make it ideal for displaying plants, ceramics, sculpture or other decorative objects within a drawing room, hallway, conservatory, bedroom or living space. Presented in good antique condition, with appropriate signs of age and historic use consistent with its early 20th-century origin. A highly desirable example of Edwardian occasional furniture, combining richly grained oak, a practical upper platform, additional lower shelf and elegant compact proportions within a timeless and versatile design.
