The sculptural body is formed from a series of geometric faceted glass elements, producing an architectural profile with excellent light-reflecting qualities. The transparent glass column rises from a contrasting black square platform with chrome-plated detailing, creating the glamorous combination of materials associated with art deco and hollywood regency interiors. Above sits an original 1940s hand-moulded opaline milk glass shade with a broad domed profile. Its softly translucent surface diffuses the light evenly, providing a warm ambient glow while contrasting elegantly with the sharply faceted transparent glass below. Substantial in construction at approximately 9 lb, the lamp retains its vintage chrome-plated b22 bayonet bulb holder and original 1950s palm-press on/off switch. The underside of the heavy base is finished with fine wool-mix green baize. Professionally rewired with period-appropriate three-core cable, earthed, tested and reported to be in perfect working order.
