The table features a well-proportioned rectangular top, providing a practical surface while allowing the natural beauty and pronounced grain of the oak to remain an important element of the design. Of particular interest is the elegant turned pillar base, which gives the table a distinctive architectural quality and provides sturdy, well-balanced support. The traditional turned form creates an attractive focal point beneath the top and lends the piece considerably more character than a conventional four-legged coffee table. Throughout, the oak displays particularly attractive natural grain with a rich, warm colour and established patina, highlighting the character of the timber and quality of the craftsmanship. Its compact dimensions make the table particularly versatile. At 69 cm wide and 50 cm deep, it provides useful surface space without overwhelming smaller living areas, while its 52 cm height also allows it to function as a low occasional or side table. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its 20th-century origin. A handsome and highly usable piece of vintage furniture, combining beautifully grained oak, a distinctive turned pedestal base and practical proportions in an enduring traditional design.
