The cabinet is richly carved throughout, demonstrating considerable craftsmanship and attention to detail. The upper section incorporates two individual cupboards, each opening to reveal a single internal shelf and providing useful concealed storage. Below are two generously proportioned drawers, their fronts enhanced by particularly striking carved Green Man handles. These sculptural details give the cabinet considerable character and reflect the fascination with historical, folkloric and naturalistic motifs found in decorative furniture of the period. The substantial cabinet is raised upon elegantly shaped cabriole legs terminating in boldly carved paw feet, creating a dramatic foundation that complements the extensive decoration above. The solid oak displays pronounced natural grain, rich warm colour and an attractive aged character throughout, providing additional depth to the deeply carved surfaces. Despite its highly decorative appearance, the cabinet remains a practical storage piece with a useful worktop height of 72 cm. For easier transportation and installation, the cabinet separates into two sections.
