The surface is built up with thick, expressive palette-knife work, giving the painting an almost sculptural quality and creating dramatic texture across the floral forms. Rich layers of red, blue, green and earthy brown produce a vibrant yet grounded palette, with the raised paint catching the light from different angles. Signed “Andy Thomas” to the lower left-hand corner, the work has a confident, decorative presence and bridges traditional floral subject matter with a more expressive modern treatment. Presented in a dark wooden frame, the painting is ready to hang and would work particularly well within a contemporary, eclectic or traditionally furnished interior. The artwork is in very good pre-owned condition overall. The frame displays minor age-related marks consistent with previous display.
