Inspired by classical garden ornament, each substantial vase features richly modelled decoration incorporating Bacchic masks surrounded by cascading fruit, foliage and floral swags. The deep circular bowls are framed by moulded rims and gadrooned lower sections, raised upon decorative fluted socles with scrolling acanthus ornament around the bases. Their generous proportions and architectural detailing make the pair particularly effective positioned symmetrically beside an entrance, doorway, terrace or garden steps. Equally attractive within a formal garden or courtyard, they can be planted with flowers, trailing plants or topiary to create an imposing decorative feature. Each urn separates from its pedestal base for easier positioning and transportation. Once installed, the sections may be sealed together if desired, although they stand securely when positioned and filled.
